Principal Engineer Deepwater
Responsibilities
You will be the main driver for exploring and developing market opportunities in the deepwater area through close client relationships. At the same time you will be managing / participating in multi-discipline projects with focus on team work and close interaction with our clients. You will also be responsible for growing and developing the local existing resources and new recruits into a team of highly competent and industry knowledgeable engineers in order to increase DNV's footprint in the deepwater area.
The position will include a large variety of projects and work tasks and offers great opportunities for personal and Professional career development.
The successful candidate will be part of a team offering the following to our clients:
- Managing multi disciplinary projects
- Technical advisory services related to subsea systems
- Qualification of new technology
- Risk assessment services (HAZID / HAZOP / FMECA workshops).
- Evaluate Subsea System design systems
- Calculate flow assurance
- Project assurance and follow up
- Perform reliability and probability studies .
- Certified Verification Agency (CVA) services
- Verification of subsea and control systems
- Participation in R&D projects
- SEA deepwater representative in the global DNV deepwater segment network
DNV is extending and developing these service offerings locally and the new candidate will take a major role in providing these towards our clients (oil companies, EPC contractors, service providers and equipment manufactures).
Qualifications
We are looking for a Principal/Senior Engineer with an advanced Engineering degree (MSc, PhD).
The candidate should preferably have 10+ years of experience and the following qualities:
- In depth knowledge of subsea systems and technologies such as subsea wellheads /trees, manifolds, subsea control systems, subsea boosting, subsea processing, etc.
- Proven track of strong project management skills and a team player
- Business development and client oriented
- Enthusiastic with good communication skills that can motivate a medium to large audience
- Able to combine analytical / theoretical knowledge and practical skills
- Good command of the English language
The candidate should also preferably possess one or more of the following qualifications:
- Understand the various elements in a subsea production system and the technical and commercial drivers for these systems
- Experience from project work and project engineering
- Experience from manufacturing planning or support and product testing .
- Experience from technical and functional product specifications, including handling of suppliers
- Knowledge and previous participation /facilitation of risk assessments (hazard identification workshops)
