| WORKSHOP: Advanced shell modelling in GeniE | |
| Duration: | 1 day |
| Dates: | 7 December 2011 |
| Venue: | Quality Hotel Edvard Grieg, Bergen |
| Workshop fee: | NOK 4.000 per day and person, including lunch (exluding VAT) |
Description
This workshop is based on material from the SE-04 Concept based FE modelling of shell structures course and focuses on concept modelling of floating shell structures for the purpose of structural analysis. GeniE is the modelling tool. Exercises include modelling of a tubular joint and a semi-submersible.
Learning objectives
Most of the time will be spent doing workshops based on practical examples, to give the participants hands-on experience in using GeniE.
Target group
Structural engineers involved in detailed design of fixed and floating offshore structures built up by plates/shells and stiffeners. The course is also relevant for engineers involved in FEED studies.
| Prerequisite SE-01 Concept based FE modelling and analysis using GeniE - Introductory, or equivalent. The participant should also be knowledgeable in the importance of FE mesh qualities. |
