Course code: SE-13 Semi-submersible analysis
Duration: 4 days
Dates: On request
Venue: On request
Course fee: Upon enquiry

Description
This course focuses on design and analysis of semi-submersibles. Modelling the structures for FE analysis and the panel model for hydrodynamic analysis is done in GeniE. The hydrodynamic environment modelling is done in HydroD and the hydrodynamic analysis in Wadam. Hydrodynamic loads are transferred to the FE model for structural analysis in Sestra. Hydrodynamic and structural results are presented in Xtract. Code checking beams is done in GeniE and stiffened plates in Platework. Sub-modelling using Submod and fatigue analysis of plates/shells in Stofat are also briefly discussed.

Learning objectives
The participant will learn to perform all basic steps of structural and hydrodynamic analysis of a semi-submerisble and similiar floating structures.

Target group
Hydrodynamic and structural engineers working with design of offshore floaters.

Prerequisite
SE-01 Concept based FE modelling and analysis using GeniE - Introductory. The participant must also be familiar with hydrodynamic analysis.
